Building your Fortified Walls - Warpath

Building your Fortified Walls - Warpath

Building the walls of your base is an important element in Warpath. After your Walls reach level 32, you can increase your walls as so-called: Fortified Walls.

In this guideline we explain which is the most effective way to build your Fortified Walls, and explain a) when is the perfect time to increase your walls and b) in which order should you build your walls to have the fastest benefits.

1. Why increase your wall - leveraging officer skills damage
2. When is the best time to increase my Walls?
3. What is the best pattern to increase my walls - the effects explained
4. Summary and Conclusion

1. Why increasing your walls?

We often hear players asking why they are getting so little kills when their base gets attacked, despite they have good troops inside. Your walls level have a lot of impact on this. The reason to increase your walls is simple:

1a. The higher you level your walls, the more Base HP and Base Damage Resist you get.

1b. More Base HP and Damage Resist means that you can resist an enemy attack for a longer period of time.

1c. The more time you resist, gives your troops more time to kill the attacking troops from within your base (called Garrison Damage).

Especially the officer tactical skill (if damage coefficient) creates huge damage, but these skillls need 8 seconds to fire. Hence, if your base resists an attack for a longer time, these officers skills will result in much more damage to your enemy.

 2. When should I increase my walls?

There are two strategies if you want to increase your walls if it comes to timing:

Strategy 1 - Increasing your walls during the weekly events

Every week, in your weekly events overview, you will find either the Arms Race event, or the Battle Honors event. The weekly schedule for both are the same.

Fig. 2 - an overview of the Battle Honors week schedule

Hence, you see that Tuesday (day 2), Friday (day 5) and Sunday (day 7) are the best days to increase your walls.

Make sure to level your walls on the right time slots on these days, when the Jurisdiction event shows either "Urgent Construction" or "Exponential Growth".

Ideally, on these days, make sure to increase your walls 3 times, to maximize the arms race / battle honors rewards. Doing so, will not help you increasing your walls, but receive maximum rewards because of it.

Strategy 2 - Increasing your walls during the Wall Builder event

Another effective strategy, is to increase your walls during the Wall Builder event. Every two weeks (Friday - Sunday) the Wall Builder event takes place. Again, you can increase your walls on Friday and Sunday (giving you the benefits of the Arms Race and Jurisdcition rewards), but on top of that, you will earn refined component parts.

3. How should I increase my walls most effectively?

The most important effects of increasing your walls are:

3a. Base Damage Resist against Bombers

3b. Base HP

3c. Base Damage Resist

Further, note that your base has 4 walls (2 walls at the south, 1 at the west and 1 at the east side). Now an often heard question is: in which order should I level my walls most effectively?

We will explain these effects, and the most logical order to increase your walls based on these effects.

3a. Base Damage Resist against Bombers

The Base Damage Resist against Bombers increases up to level 10 of each wall. At level 10, your wall gives your base 7,5% damage resist against bombers. So, if you increase each of your 4 walls, your base will be given 30% damage resist against bombers (4 x 7,5% = 30%).

Fig 5. Base Damage Resist against Bombers

After your walls reach level 10, the base damage resist against bombers does not increase any further anymore. Hence:

Step 1: Increase your 4 walls to level 10 each. Always increase your walls one by one (so: first wall 1 should reach level 10, then wall 2 should reach level 10, etc. etc.).

3b. Base HP

Base HP is a simple concept. It is the number of damage your Base can take.

Whenever your base is being attacked, the troops that attack your base will cause damage.

Fig 6. Battle Report showing the amount of damage that 2 attacking artillery troops caused to a base.

In the sample battle report above, the attacking troops caused 11.2M + 32.5M +12.1M + 41.1M = 96.9M damage.

Hence, your Base should have more than 96.6 HP to survive such an attack.

If you increase your walls above level 10, you will increase your Base HP with 1.5M for every level. (After level 30 this decreases to 1M HP per level).

Step 2: After your walls reached level 10, increase each of your walls to level 20. (Remember, first increase Wall 1 from level 10 to level 20, then Wall 2 from level 10 to level 20 etc.).

3c. Base Damage Resist

The next, perhaps most important effect of increasing your walls, is to increase Base Damage Resist.

Base Damage Resist simply means that the actual damage caused to your base is reduced by a percentage.

If you increase your walls above level 20, you will increase your Base Damage Resist with 1% for each 10 levels. Now, the exception is between level 24-25, 49-50, 74-75 and 99-100. At level these levels you get 1% (level 25 and 75) or even 2% (level 50 and 100) extra Base Damage Resist.

Step 3: After your walls reached level 20, increase each of your walls to level 30. (Again, first increase Wall 1 from level 10 to level 30, then Wall 2 from level 10 to level 30 etc.).

Overall Conclusion and Summary:

1. The best time to increase your walls is during the Wall Builder event, on Friday and Sunday).

2. The most effective pattern of increasing your walls is as follows:

Level each of your walls to level 10.

After your walls reached level 10, increase each of your walls to level 20.

After your walls reached level 20, increase each of your walls to level 30.

After your walls reached level 30, increase each of your walls to level 50.

After your walls reached level 50, increase each of your walls to level 80.

After your walls reached level 80, increase each of your walls to level 100.

Follow this pattern for the following levels abouve 100:

100-130
130-150
150-180
180-200

Above 200, increase all walls to 300 (level 299-300 gives 4% extra base damage resist).

Above 300, there is no recommended pattern since each level increase gives the same rewards.
